Description

Misolast Tablet belong to a group of medications known as abortifacient and antiulcer medications. Its active ingredient is misoprostol. Misolast Tablet are primarily used for medical termination of

pregnancy and to control post-delivery bleeding. It is also used in the treatment of gastric ulcers. It can be used in the first ten weeks of pregnancy, that is, for up to 70 days after your last menstruation. Misolast Tablet may be given alone or in combination with other medications to achieve the maximum benefit. It should only be taken after it is advised by the doctor, and as directed by them. The medicine can take 24 to 48 hours to show its effects and cause bleeding. Inform your doctor if you are using an intrauterine device or have had an ectopic pregnancy in the past. Some common side effects of this Tablet are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, cramps, and uterine bleeding.

Contraindications of Misolast 200 MG

  • If you are hypersensitive or allergic to misoprostol or other prostaglandin analogues and other inactive substances present in Misolast Tablet.
  • If you have ulcers that are caused by taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications.
  • If you are pregnant and do not desire medical abortion. The medication can result in birth defects, abortions, uterine rupture, etc.

Directions for Use of Misolast 200 MG

  • Misolast Tablet must be taken as and when directed by your doctor.
  • Take Misolast Tablet at the same time every day for optimal pharmacological effects.
  • Swallow Misolast Tablet as a whole with a glass of water. Do not break, crush or chew it. This can reduce its efficacy.
  • Misolast Tablet can be taken with or without food.
  • Do not stop taking or alter the dosage of Misolast Tablet without consulting your doctor.
