Medical Description
Livamide capsule is a specialist medicine used for multiple myeloma and lepra reactions, inflammatory episodes linked with leprosy. It contains thalidomide, an immune-modulating medicine that changes signals involved in inflammation and abnormal plasma-cell growth. It can also reduce the formation of new blood vessels that support abnormal cells. Livamide capsule is taken by mouth under a strict pregnancy-prevention and blood-safety programme, and it must not be used during pregnancy because it can cause severe harm to an unborn baby.
