Do not take this medicine during pregnancy unless specifically advised by your doctor.

Dosage

Overdose

Overdose may cause severe dizziness, weakness, or fainting. If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.

Missed a Dose

If you missed any dose of medicine, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.

How does this medicine work?

Amlodipine relaxes blood vessel walls by blocking calcium, allowing blood to flow more smoothly and reducing pressure on vessel walls. Lisinopril blocks a chemical called angiotensin II that normally tightens blood vessels. Together, these two medicines provide effective blood pressure control and reduce the workload on your heart.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can affect the way this tablet works. Tell your doctor about all medicines you are taking. In particular, if you are taking potassium supplements, pain relief medicines like ibuprofen, or other blood pressure medicines, inform your doctor as these may interact.

Interactions with food items

Avoid potassium-rich foods such as bananas, apricots, avocado, beans, beetroot, broccoli, coconut water, lentils, oranges, potatoes, raisins, spinach, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, and yogurt while taking this medicine, as lisinopril may increase potassium levels in your blood.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

The effect of this medicine can be observed within 1-2 hours of taking it. However, the full benefit may take several weeks of regular use to become apparent.
A dry cough is a known side effect of lisinopril, affecting about 10% of patients. If it bothers you significantly, inform your doctor. The cough usually resolves when the medicine is stopped.
