Lipi EZ tablet is a combination of two drugs atorvastatin and ezetimibe. It is used to treat high cholesterol levels in the body and prevent the risk of heart attack or stroke. The medication benefit

How Does It Work?
Lipi EZ tablet contains ezetimibe, which lowers the bad cholesterol (LDL) in the intestine. It mainly reduces LDL levels by decreasing the absorption of cholesterol. Atorvastatin works primarily by inhibiting the HMG-CoA reductase enzyme, an enzyme used to uptake cholesterol and reduce cholesterol synthesis in the liver....

- Take the medication in the dose and for the duration advised by your doctor
- Do not chew, crush or break the tablet in half
- Swallow the tablet as a whole with a glass of water
- It can be taken with or without food

Interactions with other medicines
- Co-administration of atorvastatin with other medicinal products may increase the risk of myopathy
- Potent CYP3A4 inhibitors have been shown to increase the concentration of atorvastatin
- Co-administration of atorvastatin with inducers of cytochrome P450 3A leads to variable reductions in plasma concentrations of atorvastatin
- Protein transport inhibitors can increase the systemic exposure of atorvastatin
- The steady-state concentration of digoxin was increased when digoxin was coadministered with atorvastatin
- The mean area under the curve of total ezetimibe was reduced when cholestyramine was administered concurrently
- Co-administration of fibrates with ezetimibe may increase the possible risk of cholelithiasis
