Mode of Action of Latoprost 50 MCG
How Does It Work?
Latanoprost in Latoprost Eye Drop works by increasing the amount of fluid that drains from the eye, thus lowering the pressure inside the eye.
Directions for Use of Latoprost 50 MCG
- Use Latoprost Eye Drop as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist.
- Follow all the directions carefully. Do not miss any doses.
- Read the instructions on the label before usage.
- Shake well before use.
- Wash your hands thoroughly before and after using the eye drops.
- If you are wearing contact lenses, remove them and then instil the drops.
- Use the exact number of drops recommended.
- After instilling the drops, close your eyes for 2-3 minutes, do not blink or squeeze.
- Avoid touching your eyes with the dropper. It must be kept clean.
- Wipe any excess liquid from your face with a napkin or tissue.
- If you are prescribed any other eye drops, you need to keep an interval of at least 5 minutes between both the drops.
Interactions of Latoprost 50 MCG
Interactions with other medicines
- You should always tell the doctor if you are taking any other medicines, topical or herbal preparation and supplements to avoid any interaction with Latoprost Eye Drop.
- Concomitant use of Latoprost Eye Drop along with similar types of medicine (prostaglandins, prostaglandin analogues or prostaglandin derivatives) is not recommended.
- If you use another eye drop product concomitantly with this medicine, keep a minimum gap of 5 minutes between the application of both the medicines.
Storage and disposal of Latoprost 50 MCG
- Store Latoprost Eye Drop in a clean and dry place.
- Keep it away from children and pets.
- You must not use the eye drops once the expiry date has passed. Discard it properly.
- Do not use the eye drops if you notice the contents are of a different colour in any way or if particles are present.
Dosage of Latoprost 50 MCG
Overdose
If you feel you have instilled the eye drops more than you should, rinse your eyes with warm water and do not put in any more drops until it is time for your next dose. If you feel any undesirable symptoms due to over-application, contact your doctor....
Missed a Dose
If you have missed a dose of Latoprost Eye Drop, use it as soon as possible. Do not use a double dose of this medicine to compensate for the missed one.
