Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: Can I stop taking Lasipen 40mg tablet now my blood pressure is lower?
A: It's best to keep taking Lasipen tablet even if it successfully lowers your blood pressure. Your blood pressure may rise again if you stop taking it. Consult a doctor before stopping the medication. Keep in mind that lowering your blood pressure lowers your risk of having a heart attack or stroke in the future.
Q: Will Lasipen tablet affect my contraception?
A: If you're using Lasipen tablet, some hormonal contraception methods, such as the combination pill and contraceptive patch, aren't normally recommended. This is because some hormonal contraceptives might cause your blood pressure to rise, interfering with the medication's effectiveness. If you're using or using hormonal contraceptives, talk to your doctor.
Q: Can I take Lasipen tablet to lose weight?
A: You may lose weight if you're taking Lasipen tablet for high blood pressure or oedema because your body loses fluids. However, Lasipen tablet should not be used solely to lose weight. Take Lasipen only if your doctor has prescribed it and only for the reason your doctor has prescribed it.
Q: How much fluid should I drink while I'm taking Lasipen tablet?
A: When using Lasipen tablet, it's usually recommended to drink normally. Drink enough fluid to avoid becoming thirsty for long periods, and gradually increase your fluid consumption when exercising or in hot conditions. It's a good sign that you've had enough to drink if your pee is pale and clear. If you have heart failure or kidney difficulties, you may need to reduce your fluid intake. Your doctor or nurse will advise you on how much water you should drink each day.
