Medical Description

Lamitor Dt Tablet is an anticonvulsant medicine that helps in treating various medical conditions. The active ingredient is lamotrigine and based on age and clinical condition treatment may vary in the patients with this medicine by decreasing the abnormal impulses from the nerves in the brain.

Uses

  • This medicine may be used for the following clinical conditions
  • Epilepsy- Patients with 13 years and above used either monotherapy or as adjuvant therapy for treating seizures associated with Lennox- Gastaout Syndrome( LGS- Characeterized by multiple seizures, regression, mental retardation and abnormal impulses from the nerves in the brain.
  • Patients with 2 years to 12 years-either used as monotherapy or as adjuvant therapy for treating seizures, and seizures associated with Lennox Gastaout Syndrome.
  • Bipolar disorder- 18 years and above
  • Helps in prevention of depressive episodes with bipolar 1 disorder.

Pregnancy

  • Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take helps to avoid any possible interaction.
