Uses
- As per CDSCO,
- For generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) associated with depression
Contraindications
- If you have neuromuscular disorders such as myasthenia gravis (a condition where voluntary muscles get easily fatigued)
- If you have breathing difficulties, for, e.g., acute pulmonary insufficiency and sleep apnea
- If you have liver or kidney disease
- If you have Acute Narrow-Angle Glaucoma (increased pressure in the eyes)
- If you have porphyria (a condition that affects the skin and internal organs because of an enzyme deficiency)
- If you have any Chronic Psychiatric Illness such as mania or bipolar disorder
- If you have low blood pressure

- Confusion
- Sedation or drowsiness
- Slurred speech
- Urinary Incontinence Or Retention
- Ataxia (poor coordination)
- Vertigo
- Tremor

Directions for Use
- Swallow this medication as a whole. Do not crush, chew or break this tablet
- This medication should be taken only in the dose and duration prescribed by the treating doctor
- The full course of the medication should be completed
- Stopping the medicine suddenly can result in withdrawal side effects. Consult your doctor before stopping this medication
- This medication can be taken with or without food

Interactions with other medicines
- Lam ET should not be taken with any sedating medications such as antihistamines as it can cause excessive drowsiness
- Lam ET should not be taken with certain medications used to reduce acidity, such as omeprazole or pantoprazole
- Lam ET should not be taken with antidepressants or antipsychotics as they can affect the blood levels of the medication
- Lam ET should not be taken with medications that are commonly used in the treatment of hypertension as it can result in a sudden drop in blood pressure
- Inform your doctor regarding any medications that you are taking at the time of prescription of Lam ET.
- Many medications interfere with the metabolism of Lam ET and cause changes in its blood levels, such as fluvoxamine, rifampicin, carbamazepine, etc.
