Gemcal-D3 capsule contains calcium and Vitamin D3/cholecalciferol as active substances. This supplement is prescribed to a patient whose dietary intake of calcium is less than the recommended amount. Calcium is necessary for the normal functioning of nerves, cells, muscles, and bones. Vitamin D helps absorb calcium and phosphorus in the body. However, when the amount of calcium in the blood is less, the body takes up the calcium from bones, thereby weakening bones.
