  • The side effects of Febutaz 40mg Tab 10'S include nausea, diarrhoea, joint pain, headache, increased liver enzyme levels, rash, swelling and hot flushes
  • Severe side effects that require medical attention are severe allergic reactions and serious skin reactions like blisters, shading of skin and rashes (Stevens-Johnson syndrome)

Can I take Febutaz 40mg Tab 10'S during pregnancy?

Avoid driving during treatment with this medicine if you experience dizziness, sleepiness or blurred vision.


Can I consume alcohol with this medicine?
No known interaction has been found with alcohol, but alcohol tends to increase uric acid levels in the body, and thus can worsen the underlying condition of gout. Hence, excessive alcohol consumption needs to be avoided.

How Does It Work?

Gout is a disorder characterized by increased uric acid (urate) levels in the body. This medicine inhibits the enzyme needed for the production of uric acid and thus lowers uric acid levels.

Directions for Use of Febutaz 40mg Tab 10'S

  • Febutaz 40mg Tab 10'S dosage and duration should be as prescribed by your doctor. This medicine should be swallowed whole. You should not chew, crush or break the tablet. It may be taken with or without food, but at a fixed time. At the beginning of your treatment with this medicine, you may get gout flare-up; however, continue taking the medicine.
