Dilzee Sr Tablet is a medication that lowers blood pressure. It contains diltiazem as its active ingredient. Dilzee Sr Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure and angina (chest pain due to reduced blood supply to the heart). It works by relaxing the blood vessels, thereby decreasing blood pressure. It improves blood supply to the heart muscles. The medication should be taken as directed by your doctor, either before or after meals. Taking the medication regularly as prescribed by your doctor, along with lifestyle modifications such as following a healthy diet low in salt and fat, staying active, maintaining a healthy weight, and consuming alcohol in moderation, may help you control your blood pressure more effectively. You should also inform your doctor about your complete medical history before starting treatment.

Uses

Dilzee Sr Tablet is used to treat angina (chest pain related to the heart), hypertension, and certain types of irregular heartbeats (arrhythmias). It is classified as a calcium channel blocker.

  • Dantrolene, a muscle relaxant, should not be taken alongside this medicine. Additionally, medications used as vasodilators, such as nitrates, should not be combined with it, as this may result in a significant drop in blood pressure.
  • You should exercise caution if you are taking other blood pressure-lowering medications, certain antibiotics, acid-reducing medications, steroids, drugs for brain-related disorders, anti-HIV medications, cholesterol-lowering medications, immunomodulators, medications for heart conditions, or muscle relaxants.
