  • Use high-strength sunscreen if outdoors

Dosage

Overdose

If you have received an overdose of Desidox, inform your doctor immediately. Symptoms may include severe nausea, vomiting, or gastrointestinal upset.

Missed a Dose

Since Desidox is administered by a healthcare professional, your doctor will reschedule missed injections appropriately.

How does this medicine work?

Desidox works by entering bacterial cells and blocking their ability to produce essential proteins. Bacteria require these proteins to grow, multiply, and survive. By stopping protein synthesis, Desidox prevents bacteria from spreading, allowing your body's immune system to clear the infection.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

Tell your doctor about all medicines you are taking. Desidox should not be combined with antacids containing aluminium, calcium, or magnesium, or with iron or zinc supplements, as these reduce its effectiveness. Anticoagulants may have reduced effectiveness when used with Desidox.

Interactions with food items

Since Desidox is given by injection, food interactions are minimal. However, avoid dairy products for 2 hours if switching to oral doxycycline.
