Medical Description

Dalstep Tablet is used to improve walking in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). It contains the active ingredient Dalfampridine. It belongs to a group of medicines called potassium channel blockers. It works by stopping potassium from leaving nerve cells that have been damaged by MS. By doing this, it helps signals travel down the nerves more normally, which can make it easier for you to walk.

Swallow each tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not split, crush, dissolve, suck, or chew the tablet, as doing so may raise the risk of side effects. Take this medicine on an empty stomach, without food. Common side effects of the tablet include UTI, feeling unsteady, dizziness, spinning sensation (vertigo), headache, feeling weak and difficulty sleeping. Do not give this medicine to children under 18 years of age.
