Uses of Chemosid 100 MG
For the treatment of small cell lung cancer, blood cancer, testicular cancer, lymphatic cancer.
Contraindications of Chemosid 100 MG
- If you are allergic to gemcitabine or any of the ingredients of Chemosid Injection
- If you have recently taken any live vaccines
- If you are a breastfeeding mother
Side effects of Chemosid 100 MG
- Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea
- Constipation, stomach pain
- Fever, infection, dizziness
- Skin rash, redness, itching
- Weakness
- Hair loss
- Irregular heartbeats
- Low blood platelets, anaemia, low WBCs

Pregnancy

- Chemosid Injection should not be used during pregnancy unless your doctor considers it essential after assessing the benefits over risks.
- Use effective contraception during treatment. However, if you get pregnant while on treatment, immediately contact your doctor.
Breast Feeding

Can I take Chemosid Injection while breastfeeding?

You must not be breastfeeding while on treatment with this medicine, as etoposide passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor.
Driving

Can I drive if I have consumed Chemosid Injection?

This medicine may make you feel dizzy. Caution is needed while driving or operating machines.
Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Chemosid Injection?
A:
You should avoid consuming alcohol while taking this medicine, as it may worsen the side effects of this medicine.
Other General Warnings
Talk to your doctor if
- You have problems with your heart, liver or kidneys
- You recently had chemotherapy or radiotherapy
- You have a condition in which the bone marrow activity is reduced, Myelosuppression.
- If you develop fever, chills, rapid heart rates, low blood pressure and shortness of breath (anaphylactic reaction), immediately contact the doctor.
- You have infections.
- You have a low level of albumin (protein) in your blood.
Mode of Action of Chemosid 100 MG
How Does It Work?
Etoposide interacts with DNA (genetic material) and causes certain changes in the DNA. This results in problems in DNA synthesis leading to anti-cancer effects.

- Chemosid Injection will be given in hospital by your doctor or nurse. Do not self-inject.
