Cefex Tablet is an antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections. It helps with infections in the respiratory tract, urinary tract, ears, sinuses, throat, and some sexually transmitted diseas

es. You should take this medication only with the guidance of a healthcare professional. Take Cefex Tablet regularly at the same times each day as your doctor directs. Can I take Cefex Tablet during pregnancy?

Breast Feeding

Can I take Cefex Tablet while breastfeeding?

It is unknown whether Cefixime passes into the breastmilk. Hence, it is advised to discontinue nursing temporarily if you are treated with Cefex Tablet. If you are taking this medicine while breastfeeding, watch for diarrhoea in your baby.

Driving

Can I drive if I have consumed Cefex Tablet?

Cefex Tablet can cause side effects like confusion, altered consciousness, feeling less alert, fits. If you experience any of these, don’t drive or use machinery.

Can I consume alcohol with Cefex Tablet?

Avoid consuming alcohol while taking this antibiotic.

Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if

You have problems with your liver or kidneys.
You experience skin reactions after taking Cefex Tablet.
You have or had encephalopathy (damage or disease that affects the brain and alters the way the brain works).
You are suffering from a condition called haemolytic anaemia (a condition where red blood cells get broken down faster than they are formed).
You experience watery diarrhoea, stomach pain and fever.
You develop any allergic reaction after using Cefex Tablet.

How Does It Work?

Cefex Tablet works by inhibiting the growth of the cell wall of bacteria, which eventually leads to the death of the bacteria.

Directions for Use of Cefex 100 MG

Take Cefex Tablet as directed by your doctor.
Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water, do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
It would be best if you took it at a fixed time for optimal results and should not consume it more than that prescribed by your doctor.
Always complete the course of antibiotic medicine and do not discontinue on your own.

Interactions of Cefex 100 MG

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can affect the way Cefex Tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interactions.
Especially, if you are taking Carbamazepine (a medicine used to treat seizures) and blood thinners such as Warfarin.
Cefex Tablet may alter the clotting parameters and there is a risk of unusual bleeding.

Dosage of Cefex 100 MG

Overdose

Seek medical care immediately in case you happen to take too much of Cefex Tablet. This medicine may cause a risk of encephalopathy (damage to your brain) if taken in large quantities.
