Arsikem Injection

• Newly diagnosed low-to-intermediate-risk acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL), in combination with all-trans-retinoic acid (ATRA).
• Relapsed or refractory acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL), when previous treatment has included a retinoid and chemotherapy.

• If you have a known hypersensitivity or severe allergic reaction to arsenic trioxide or any of its inactive ingredients.
• Severe QT prolongation or significant cardiac rhythm abnormalities require careful assessment and correction of risk factors before treatment, rather than being an absolute contraindication in all cases.

• Low white blood cell count (leukopenia), which can increase the risk of infections
• Low red blood cell count (anemia), causing tiredness and fatigue
• Low platelet count (thrombocytopenia), leading to easy bruising or bleeding
• Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea
• Fatigue, weakness, and headache

• Dizziness and insomnia
• Cough, shortness of breath, or breathing difficulties
• Edema (swelling in the hands, ankles, or feet)
• Muscle and bone pain

• QT prolongation and severe, life-threatening heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias such as torsades de pointes)
• APL differentiation syndrome (characterized by fever, weight gain, respiratory distress, and fluid buildup)
• High white blood cell count (hyperleukocytosis)
• Severe electrolyte disturbances (such as low potassium or low magnesium)

Other General Warnings

• You have a history of heart disease, irregular heartbeats, or abnormal ECG results, as close cardiac monitoring is required.
• You have pre-existing kidney or liver impairment, as your doctor may need to monitor you more closely.
• You experience signs of active infection, such as fever, persistent cough, or chills.
• You notice sudden swelling, unexplained weight gain, or breathing difficulties, which may indicate heart failure
• You develop palpitations, dizziness, fainting, or other symptoms that may indicate an abnormal heart rhythm.

• Arsikem injection is always administered by a trained healthcare professional as an intravenous infusion in a hospital or clinic setting.
• Do not attempt to self-administer or prepare this medication at home.
• Follow all post-infusion care instructions and keep all scheduled appointments for your treatment cycles.
• Your doctor determines the dose, frequency, and duration of treatment based on the APL treatment regimen prescribed.

• Hospital pharmacies and healthcare facilities handle storage of Arsikem injection in accordance with strict pharmaceutical guidelines.
• Keep out of the reach of children and pets in a secure medical environment.
• Clinical staff manage proper disposal of vials and infusion equipment in accordance with hospital biomedical waste protocols.

• Keep all scheduled ECG appointments to monitor your heart rhythm closely throughout treatment.
• Attend all blood test sessions so your doctor can track your blood cell counts and electrolyte levels.
• Report any sudden dizziness, fainting spells, or heart palpitations to your nurse or doctor immediately.
• Stay well hydrated, and tell your medical team right away if you have breathing difficulties or sudden weight gain.
