This medicine is used to treat high blood pressure and also used in coronary artery disease.
Contraindications of Amlopres 10mg Tab
Avoid using amlodipine if you are allergic to it, have very low blood pressure, or suffering from conditions like heart failure or narrowing of aorta, which can decrease cardiac output.

Amlopres 10mg Tab side effects include swelling of feet, fatigue, nausea, headache, dizziness, sleepiness, stomach pain, abnormal heartbeat, flushing, excessive fall in blood pressure (serious), and allergic reactions.

How Does It Work?
Amlopres 10mg Tab composition inhibits the transport of calcium ions which are needed for effective contraction of smooth muscles in the blood vessels and heart, thereby dilating the heart and arteries. Amlodipine reduces the load on the heart and decreases the pressure on the blood vessels, thus reducing the high blood pressure.

Interactions with other medicines
This medicine can interact with other medicines like ketoconazole, ritonavir, tacrolimus, ciclosporin, simvastatin, etc. Hence, inform your doctor about all other medications you are using.
Interactions with food items
Grapefruit and grapefruit juice should not be consumed by people who are taking this medicine, as these can cause a serious drop in blood pressure, which can be life threatening.
Other general Interactions
Adjust the dosage of amlodipine based on the clinical response in patients with liver failure.
