Precautions and Warnings

Pregnancy

Pregnancy

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. This eye eye drop is applied locally to the eye, so systemic absorption is minimal. Your doctor will advise if it is safe for you.

Breast Feeding

Breast Feeding

This eye eye drop is unlikely to pass into breast milk due to minimal systemic absorption. It is generally considered safe while breastfeeding. Consult your doctor for confirmation.

Driving

Driving

This eye drop may cause temporary blurring of vision or discomfort. Do not drive or operate machinery immediately after instilling this medicine. Wait until your vision clears completely.

Alcohol

Alcohol

Alcohol does not directly interact with this eye eye drop.

Directions for Use

Wash your hands before using this medicine. Tilt your head back and pull the lower eyelid down to form a pouch. Instill 1 drop into the affected eye as directed by your doctor. Close your eye gently and apply light pressure at the inner corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute. This prevents the medicine from draining into your tear duct. Do not touch the dropper tip to your eye or any surface. Do not wear contact lenses while using this eye drop.

Storage and disposal

Store this eye drop at room temperature away from sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Use within 4 weeks of opening the bottle. Do not use if the solution appears discoloured or cloudy.

Quick Tips

  • Wash hands thoroughly before and after using this medicine.
  • Do not share this eye drop with anyone else.
  • Avoid touching your eyes or face while infected.
  • Use a clean towel and do not share towels during infection.
  • Wear sunglasses to protect eyes from sunlight sensitivity.
  • Complete the full course even if symptoms improve.
  • Apply a warm compress to relieve itching and burning.

Dosage

Overdose

Accidental ingestion of small amounts is unlikely to cause harm. If large amounts are ingested or if symptoms of overdose occur (severe eye irritation, vision changes), contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.

Missed a Dose

If you missed any dose of medicine, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.

How does this medicine work?

Moxifloxacin is an antibiotic that kills bacteria causing the infection. Bromfenac reduces inflammation, pain, swelling, and redness in the eye. Together, they treat the infection and provide relief from discomfort.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

Most interactions are unlikely with eye drop use as the systemic absorption is minimal. However, tell your doctor if you are taking oral fluoroquinolone antibiotics or anti-inflammatory medicines. If using other eye drops, maintain a 5-minute gap between them.

Interactions with food items

Food does not affect the use of this eye eye drop.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Use this eye drop only in the affected eye unless your doctor advises otherwise. If both eyes are infected, your doctor will instruct you on using it in both eyes.
Many people feel relief from symptoms within a few days of regular use. Continue using this eye drop for the full duration prescribed by your doctor, even if you feel better, to completely clear the infection.
Apply the missed dose as soon as you remember, unless it is almost time for your next dose. If it is nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule.
