Ketorolac Tromethamine is a Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID) prescribed short term for relief of moderate to severe pain. The medicine is not to be used beyond five days.
Uses
- Moderate to severe pain, usually for pain after surgery
- To prevent and relieve eye inflammation after eye surgery
Contraindications
When should one not use Ketorolac Tromethamine
Do not take if you have allergy to Ketorolac Tromethamine, other NSAIDs or Aspirin.

Common side effects of this drug are:
- Allergic reaction like - fever, chills, rash, hives, breathing difficulty, swelling over your face, lips, throat, running, stuffy nose, sneezing
- Inflammation of the eye, swelling of eyelid/ eye, puffiness, itchy eyes, red eye, vision trouble
- Inflammation of the intestine, indigestion
- Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, fullness in stomach, sweating
- Dizziness, drowsiness, headache
- Bleeding from unusual sites
- Mood and behavioral changes and hallucinations
- Blisters on skin, peeling, redness, swelling
- Unusual weakness, tiredness, joint and muscle pain
- Little or no urination, difficulty in passing urine
- Dark stool/ urine or vomitus

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Ketorolac Tromethamine may increase the side effects when used with other NSAIDs, Cyclosporine, Metformin, Methotrexate, Quinolones
- Ketorolac may reduce efficacy of Diuretics (water pill) or Angiotensin Converting Enzyme (ACE) inhibitors (e.g., Enalapril)
- Probenacid may increase the risk of side effects of Ketorolac Tromethamine
- Anticoagulants like Heparin, Warfarin, Clopidogrel, Aspirin, etc. These may increase the risk of bleeding

Dosage
Overdose

Missed a Dose
Take your missed dose as early as possible. Skip the missed dose & do not take extra medicine to compensate for the missed dose.
