Zoryl 3mg Tab is used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. It can help control the increased levels of blood sugar in the body. This anti-diabetic medicine prevents long-term complications of diabetes due to the presence of glimepiride.

Uses of Zoryl 3mg Tab

Zoryl 3mg Tab use is mainly indicated for the treatment of type 2 diabetes.

Contraindications of Zoryl 3mg Tab

  • Patients who are allergic to glimepiride or other sulfonylureas
  • Patients suffering from type 1 diabetes
  • Patients suffering from a complication of diabetes known as diabetic ketoacidosis
  • Patients with severe kidney or liver disease

Side effects of Zoryl 3mg Tab

Zoryl 3mg Tab side effects include low blood sugar with symptoms like confusion, anxiety, light-headedness or dizziness, sweating, sleepiness, headaches, weakness or fatigue, unconsciousness and mood changes. Allergic reactions with symptoms like breathing and swallowing difficulty, swelling of the throat or tongue or rashes are also seen. Other effects include abnormal liver function (jaundice), itchy skin, dark-coloured urine, pale stool or tar-coloured stool, low blood cell or platelet counts, low sodium levels (hyponatremia) with symptoms like nausea, vomiting, headache, confusion, loss of energy and fatigue.

It is probably safe to drive after taking this medicine. However, you should consult your doctor for the same. Glimepiride can cause low blood sugar levels, which can lead to drowsiness, unconsciousness, and confusion. You should keep a chocolate bar or juice close to you while driving. It will come in handy if you have frequent episodes of hypoglycaemia.

It can also interact with antibiotics, antifungals, clofibrate, disopyramide, fenfluramine, fluoxetine, insulin, metformin, antidepressants of the class monoamine oxidase inhibitors, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines, and other anti-diabetic medications. Steroids, diuretics, oestrogens, hormonal contraceptives or thyroid supplements may decrease the effectiveness of this medicine to cause an increase in the blood sugar level.
