Zolway 10 MG Description
Zolway 10 mg tablet is a prescription medicine advised to a person with insomnia. Insomnia refers to the inability to fall asleep on your own. Zolway tablets contain Zolpidem as the active ingredient
. Zolpidem is a type of sedative-hypnotic. It acts by reducing the time required for sleep onset and improves sleep quality by slowing the brain's activity. Side effects of Zolway Tablets include drowsiness, tiredness, dizziness, lightheadedness, difficulty maintaining balance, nausea, constipation and diarrhoea. The tablet should be taken with a doctor's recommendation only. It is usually prescribed for a shorter duration. Zolway tablets should be consumed only when you have sufficient time to rest, at least 7 hours. Take the tablet as prescribed, do not alter the dose without consulting the doctor. Do not discontinue the medicine on your own; it can lead to withdrawal symptoms. Zolway tablets can be habit-forming. Please take medicine as advised. How Does It Work?
Zolway tablet has Zolpidem as the active ingredient. Zolpidem belongs to a type of drug known as Sedative Hypnotics. It helps by slowing the brain’s activity and producing a calming effect. It decreases the sleep onset time and also improves the quality of sleep....
Directions for Use of Zolway 10 MG
- Zolway tablets have to be taken only with a doctor’s recommendation. Generally, it is prescribed for a shorter duration, and the schedule has to be maintained. Do not exceed the dose and duration without a doctor’s approval....
- Proper timings need to be maintained. It should be taken 30-45 minutes before the preferred sleeping time.
- Usually, a 10 mg dose is advised for men and 5 mg for women.
- You can take Zolway Tablets orally with water. The tablets should not be distorted in any way by either crushing or breaking.
- Zolway tablets can be consumed with or without food. The tablet should not be taken after a high-fat diet as it affects the absorption of Zolpidem which would further decrease the efficacy.
Interactions of Zolway 10 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- Zolway tablet can interact with these medicines-
- Codeine (given in cough), Clonazepam (given in seizures) can increase the depressive action on the Nervous System.
- Ketoconazole (antifungal) and Erythromycin (antibiotic), which can reduce the metabolism of Zolpidem, can increase the risk of side effects.
- Chlorpromazine (antipsychotic) can increase the risk of severity of side effects.
- Rifampicin (antibiotic) can reduce the efficacy of Zolpidem.
- Acetaminophen (painkiller ) can increase the metabolism of Zolpidem.
Storage and disposal of Zolway 10 MG
Zolway tablets should not be placed under direct sources of heat and light. The tablets should not be stored under direct sunlight. Store the tablets at room temperature. You do not need to refrigerate the Zolway tablets. Keep the tablets away from children and pets at home.
Please do not drain, flush or throw the unused Zolway tablets in the garbage. Find a medicine take-back programme nearby to dispose of the tablets correctly....
Dosage of Zolway 10 MG
Overdose
Overdose can lead to serious side effects like troubled breathing, inability to wake up, coma etc.
Take the affected person to the hospital immediately.
Do not exceed the dose if you feel the medicine is not working for you as it can lead to overdose....
Missed a Dose
Zolway tablets, if missed, should be taken as soon as you remember the dose. However, if it is almost the time for the next one, do not double the dose and stick to the prescribed schedule.
Do not take the skipped dose in the morning as it will induce sleep in the day....
