Description
Trikonol Plus tablet is a prescription medicine used to treat depression and depression-associated anxiety. Depression is a mental health disorder characterised by persistent depressed mood or a loss
of interest in activities for most of the day, every day. Poor focus, feelings of excessive guilt or low self-worth, hopelessness about the future, thoughts of death or suicide, disrupted sleep, changes in appetite, and feeling especially weary or lacking in energy are all possible symptoms. The active ingredients in Trikonol Plus tablets are Amitriptyline and Chlordiazepoxide. Amitriptyline belongs to a class of medicines called tricyclic antidepressants, and Chlordiazepoxide is a benzodiazepine. Directions for use of Trikonol Plus tablets should be strictly followed. Sudden stopping of this medication is not advised. It is important to inform the treating doctor of all medicines taken so that they can be checked for possible interaction issues. Side effects of Trikonol Plus tablets include dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, constipation, tiredness, weakness, nightmares, headache, dry mouth, difficulty urinating, blurred vision, burning sensations or tingling in the hands or feet, excessive perspiration, changes in sexual desire, changes in appetite or weight, disorientation, and unsteadiness.

- You develop an irregular heartbeat after starting treatment with Trikonol Plus tablets.
- You are an older adult. You may be more sensitive to the side effects of antidepressants.
- Your test reports show changes in liver function after starting Trikonol Plus tablets.
- You develop headaches associated with eye pain.
- You develop or have an episode of blood vomiting.
- You develop abnormal limb movements after starting treatment with Trikonol Plus tablets.
- You have seizures for the first time after taking Trikonol Plus tablets.

How Does It Work?
Directions for Use of Trikonol Plus Tablets
- Take Trikonol Plus tablets exactly as advised by your doctor.
- Do not exceed the dosage, even if you cannot notice the effects of this medicine.
- Take Trikonol Plus tablets as a whole with a glass of water; do not break or chew this tablet.
- Take this medicine with or without food.
- Do not take Trikonol Plus tablets with other medications without informing your doctor.
- Do not abruptly stop taking Trikonol Plus tablets; this can result in adverse effects from withdrawal.
Interactions of Trikonol Plus Tablets
Interactions with other medicines
- Trikonol Plus tablets are known to interact with the following medications:
- Medicines that affect heart rhythm like (cisapride and astemizole) can result in potentially life-threatening conditions like heart block or cardiac arrest.
- Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) like selegiline and rasagiline increase the risk of serotonin syndrome (high serotonin levels in the body causing symptoms like confusion, hallucinations, seizures, extreme changes in blood pressure, blurry vision, and excessive sweating)....
- There is an increase in the level of central nervous system depressants like alprazolam when co-administered with Trikonol Plus tablets. This can cause increased drowsiness.
- Antihypertensive medications like propranolol and metoprolol reduce the metabolism of Trikonol Plus tablets, causing an increased risk of side effects.
- Anti-anxiety medication like escitalopram reduces the metabolism of Trikonol Plus tablets, causing an increased risk of side effects.
- Anti-allergic medications like cetirizine increase the central nervous system depressant (CNS depressant) activities of Trikonol Plus tablets.
- Painkillers like diclofenac increase the risk or severity of gastrointestinal bleeding.
- Antifungal medications like ketoconazole decrease the metabolism of Trikonol Plus tablets, causing an increased risk of side effects.
- Blood thinners and antiplatelet agents like warfarin and aspirin increase the risk or severity of gastrointestinal bleeding.
- Migraine medicines like zolmitriptan and sumatriptan increase the central nervous system depressant (CNS depressant) activities of Trikonol Plus tablets.
- Antiviral medicines used to treat HIV/AIDs like nelfinavir, ritonavir, saquinavir, and indinavir decrease the metabolism of Trikonol Plus tablets, causing an increased risk of side effects.
- Antibiotics like clarithromycin may increase the blood levels of Trikonol Plus tablets, leading to an increased risk of side effects.
