Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

^

Q: Can I stop taking the Tonact Forte Tablet suddenly?

A: It's not advisable to stop this medicine suddenly as it increases your risk of stroke or heart attack if the cholesterol levels are raised. Consult with your doctor before stopping at Tonact Forte Tablet on your own

Q: I am diabetic, and I am taking Tonact Forte Tablet. Do I need to change my medicine?

A: In diabetics, the blood sugar levels and HbA1C can increase because of the Tonact Forte Tablet. You need not change the medicine, but you need to consult your diabetologist on how to control your diabetes, and if required, the doctor may change the medicine.

Q: What is cholesterol? How is it linked to developing heart attack? How does Tonact Forte help with this?

A: Cholesterol is a precursor of lipids/ fats in your body. This is an integral part of your cell membrane. However, a high proportion of LDL cholesterol ( which transports cholesterol to tissues) can lead to plaques and atherosclerosis, and narrowing of the blood vessels, resulting in limitation of blood flow and eventually coronary heart disease. Tonact Forte contains Atorvastatin which slows down the buildup of cholesterol in the body. When the cholesterol is less, subsequent atherosclerosis reduces. Overall this decreases the probability of getting a heart attack and also delays heart and blood vessel-related problems.
