Medical Description
Tonact 40 tablet contains atorvastatin as the active substance. It is used to lower blood cholesterol. It is also used to reduce the risk of heart disease. Avoid using this medicine if you are allergic to it, have any liver diseases or are pregnant or breastfeeding. Take Tonact 40 in the exact dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor.
Do not stop taking this medicine on your own. It can be taken with food. Before using Tonact 40 tablet, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history. Atorva 40mg tablet, Storvas 40mg tablet and Lipvas 40mg tablet are some other medicines with atorvastatin as their active medicines.

- If you are allergic to atorvastatin or any other ingredients of Tonact 40 tablet.
- If you have or ever had any liver disease any abnormality in liver function test.
- If you are being treated with medicines for hepatitis C like glecaprevir, pibrentasvir.
- If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or are breastfeeding.

- You have liver or kidney disease.

- You have any thyroid problems.
- You cannot digest lactose (lactose intolerance).
- You are above 70 years of age.

- Tonact 40 tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor.
- Take this medicine as a whole with a sufficient amount of water. It can be taken with food.
- You should take it regularly at a fixed time and as directed by your doctor.
- Do not consume it more than that prescribed by your doctor.

- Avoid meals that are fried, high in fat, or junk food.
- Tonact 40mg tablet is not recommended if you are pregnant, planning on becoming pregnant, or breastfeeding.
- Also, inform your doctor about all other medicines that you take and your complete medical history like heart problems, hepatitis C or HIV/AIDS etc.
- Headache, body ache, diarrhoea, swelling of the nasal passages, and nausea/vomiting may occur in some individuals with the use of this medicine. Inform your doctor if these effects bother you or do not go away.
- It is not recommended to consume a lot of grapefruit juice.
