  • Serious side effects include rashes, swelling of the face , lips and throat, infection in the upper respiratory tract, deranged kidney function and steep drop in blood pressure

How Does It Work?

This medicine prevents the binding of angiotensin-II to its receptors, thus relaxing the blood vessels and lowering the blood pressure.

Interactions with other medicines

This medicine is reported to interact with diuretics, NSAIDs, ACE inhibitors, aspirin, and medicines which increase potassium levels in the blood.

Overdose

An overdose of this medicine can cause sudden drop in the blood pressure, dizziness, loss of consciousness and kidney failure. Take medical help immediately.

Missed a Dose

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember it. However, if the time for next dose is near, skip the mixed dose. Never double the dose to compensate for the missed one.
