Sermind 25 mg tablet is an antidepressant used to treat depressive disorders (depression). It relieves symptoms of anxiety illnesses like OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) and panic disorders. Ser
mind tablet contains sertraline which belongs to a class of medicines called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI). It increases the levels of a natural chemical messenger (serotonin) in the brain, thereby improving your mood, relieving anxiety and increasing your energy level. OCD is characterised by excessive thoughts leading to repetitive behaviour. A panic attack is a sudden episode of intense fear even when there is no apparent cause or real danger. The doctor decides the dose and duration of treatment. It can be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time daily as directed by your doctor. The common side effects of Sermind 25 mg tablets are nausea, diarrhoea, irritability, tremors, insomnia and ejaculation problems. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or a lactating mother.

Uses of Sermind 25 MG
- Sermind 25 mg tablet is used to treat the following conditions:
- Treatment of major depressive disorders (depression)
- Relieves symptoms of panic disorder
- Relieves anxiety in OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) and PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder)
- Treats PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder) symptoms
Contraindications of Sermind 25 MG
- Sermind 25 mg tablet is contraindicated in the following cases:
- If you are allergic to Sermind 25 mg or any of its constituents
- If you develop any severe side effects following the consumption of the tablets like difficulty in breathing or swelling of the face
- If you are taking MAO (monoamine oxidase inhibitors)inhibitors like Selegiline, triptans, lithium, tramadol or tryptophan. There is an increased risk of serotonin syndrome (nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, flushing, palpitations and dizziness) with concomitant use of the above medicines...
- If you are taking Disulfiram used for the treatment of alcoholism (can result in symptoms like nausea, low blood pressure, palpitations and headache)

- Sermind 25 mg tablet has the following side effects:
- Allergy
- Nausea and diarrhoea
- Tremors
- Irritability and agitation
- Insomnia or somnolence
- Ejaculation problems
- Dry mouth
- Fatigue
- These are some of the common side effects of Sermind 25 mg tablets, which generally do not require medical attention. Rare serious side effects include the following:
- Irregular heartbeat and rhythm (arrhythmias)
- Angle-closure glaucoma (increased pressure in the eyes)
- Seizures (fits)
- Hyponatremia (low blood sodium levels)
- Increased risk of bleeding

How Does It Work?
Directions for Use of Sermind 25 MG
- Do not start the medicine without consulting a doctor.
- Take the dose and duration of the medicine as prescribed by your doctor.
- Take the medicine orally with or without food with a glass of water, preferably at the same time daily.
- Do not chew or crush or attempt to split the tablet.
- Follow your doctor's instructions carefully and regularly to get the maximum benefit.
- Do not abruptly stop the medicine or skip doses.
- Consult your doctor immediately in persistent side effects or severe allergic reactions.
Interactions of Sermind 25 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- MAO (monoamine oxidase) inhibitors: Selegiline and Linezolid increase the risk of serotonin syndrome (nausea, diarrhoea, palpitations and flushing)
- Serotonergic medicines (Tricyclic antidepressants, Buspirone) increase the risk of serotonin syndrome
- Pimozide increase the risk of arrhythmias (irregular heart rhythm)
- Warfarin increases the risk of bleeding
Interactions with food items
- Sermind 25 mg tablets can be taken with or without food as your doctor directs. However, there is insufficient data regarding the interaction of medicine with food. Consult your doctor.
