This medicine works on an enzyme known as HMG-CoA reductase, which is responsible for the synthesis of cholesterol. Interactions with other medicines

Coupling this medicine along with other lipids-lowering medicines can result in a condition of myopathy, which is when the muscle fibres do not function properly. Taking this medicine with any ongoing HIV medications or any other medicines used for treating infections can result in the increased concentration of statins, often resulting in the side effects being more prominent. It is important to monitor the lipid levels closely when rosuvastatin is used with other cholesterol-lowering medicines. This medicine should not be combined with fusidic acid (their combination can lead to rhabdomyolysis); if you are on the prescription of fusidic acid, inform your doctor about the same. Do not consume this medicine within two hours after taking any antacids.
