Risdone Plus Tablet
Risdone Plus Tablet Description
Risdone Plus Tablet contains a combination of two active ingredients, namely risperidone and trihexyphenidyl hydrochloride. It is taken orally, and is commonly prescribed for conditions such as schiz
ophrenia, mania, and to control acute manic episodes that affect patients with bipolar disorder. These conditions are considered secondary to an imbalance in the levels of certain chemical mediators in the brain, such as serotonin and dopamine. Risperidone acts on this directly as it is a potent atypical antipsychotic. Trihexyphenidyl Hydrochloride compliments this by controlling the associated abnormal movements by its anticholinergic action. Risdone Plus Tablet is prescribed as a single or twice daily dose (rarely thrice a day). Due to its sedative propensity (increased sleep or dizziness), it is advisable to be taken at night. The dose, frequency and duration of medication is to be followed strictly as per the doctor’s advice. Any resumption or abrupt discontinuation of Risdone Plus Tablet should be done only after informing the treating doctor as it could increase the severity of the underlying condition. The doctor should be informed of the ongoing medications (to avoid interactions with other medicines), current and future pregnancy status, breastfeeding, and the precise age in young individuals.
