Uses
- As per CDSCO, Ripe Kit Forte is used for the treatment of tuberculosis infection.
Contraindications
- If you are allergic to any component of Ripe Kit Forte i.e Isoniazid, Rifampicin, Pyrazinamide, Ethambutol, and Vitamin B6.
- If you have any vision complaints like optic neuritis.
- If you have a history of alcohol consumption.
- If you have gout.
- If you have peripheral neuropathy (pain caused by damage to the nerves),
- If you have liver disease.
- If you have kidney disease.
- If you are using anti-viral medicines like HIV medicines.
Side effects

- Rash
- Muscle and joint pain

- You have any allergic reactions after taking Ripe Kit Forte.
- You experience any severe side effects persistently.
- You experience worsening symptoms.
- You have severe liver impairment.
- You have renal impairment.
- You have tingling sensations or nerve pain or damage.
- You are taking oral contraceptive pills. Ripe Kit Forte may reduce their effectiveness, so try to use other methods of contraception like condoms, diaphragms, etc.
Directions for Use
- Take Ripe Kit Forte exactly as prescribed by the doctor.
- Take Ripe Kit Forte on a regular schedule, preferably at the same time every day.
- Take the tablet as a whole orally, with a full glass of water. Do not break, chew or crush the tablet.
- You can take the Ripe Kit Forte before or after consuming food or as prescribed by your doctor.
- Do not stop taking Ripe Kit Forte suddenly, as it can lead to drug resistance.
- Do not take Ripe Kit Forte with other medications without informing your doctor.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Tell your doctor and pharmacist what prescription and non-prescription medications, herbal products, vitamins and nutritional supplements you are consuming or plan to take as there is a chance of drug interaction. Many medicines can interact with Ripe Kit Forte, making it less effective or increasing side effects. This includes-
- Interaction of Ripe Kit Forte with Phenytoin (anti-seizure medicine) or disulfiram (for alcoholism), which will increase the level of these medicines in the blood and cause adverse effects.
- Interaction of Ripe Kit Forte with anti- HIV drugs can decrease the efficacy of antiviral drugs and may lead to viral resistance.
- Interaction of Ripe Kit Forte with oral contraceptives, blood thinners (warfarin), certain diabetic medicines (sulfonylureas), and methadone can decrease the level of these medicines in the blood.
- Interaction with medicines like corticosteroids- prednisolone, methylprednisolone, and dexamethasone can decrease the plasma levels of isoniazid by increasing its metabolic and excretion.
Interactions with food items
- You can continue with the usual diet unless instructed.
