Mode of Action

How Does It Work?

Ripe Kit Forte is composed of five active ingredients: Isoniazid-300mg, Rifampicin-600mg, Pyrazinamide-1500mg, Ethambutol-800mg, and Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine)- 10mg. Isoniazid works by preventing the Tuberculosis bacteria from forming a protective layer, which is essential for its survival. Rifampicin works by blocking a bacterial enzyme called RNA Polymerase, which is essential for the synthesis of proteins and multiplying bacteria. Pyrazinamide lowers the growth of the bacteria by stopping the synthesis of specific proteins (Coenzyme A). Ethambutol reduces the growth of the bacteria by preventing the synthesis of specific proteins. Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine) is added in the combination to prevent the deficiency of vitamin B6 caused by Isoniazid.
