• Pain reliever

• Allergy to the active ingredient or any other excipient
• Patients under 18 years of age
• Hepatic encephalopathy
• Cholestasis
• Myasthenia gravis
• History of liver disease or cirrhosis
• Chronic alcoholism

• Fatigue
• Dizziness
• Nausea
• Dryness in mouth
• Bloating
• Tremors
• Itching

Other General Warnings

• You have hepatic diseases like encephalopathy, cirrhosis, cholestasis and chronic alcoholism.
• You are allergic to the active ingredient of the medication or its excipients
• You are suffering from coronary heart disease
• You have liver or kidney dysfunction
• You have a history of lactic acidosis
• You are taking other prescription, non-prescription medication, vitamins or minerals

• Take this medication in the dose and for the duration as advised by your doctor
• Do not chew, crush or break the tablet in half
• Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water
• Take it with or without food as advised by your doctor

• Store in a cool and dry place at temperature below 25°C
• Keep away from children and pets
• Protect the medication from light and moisture
• Do not flush the expired or unused tablets or throw them in household waste
• Talk to your pharmacist about safe ways of discarding the medication

Interactions with other medicines

• Concomitant use of flupirtine with warfarin has shown to increase warfarin toxicity
• Co-administration of retense tablets with paracetamol increases the hepatotoxic potential of paracetamol
• Sedatives like benzodiazepines potentiate tiredness and dizziness when taken with flupirtine
• Co-administration of carbamazepine induces hepatic enzymes
