Medical Description

Reactin Plus tablet contains Diclofenac and Paracetamol. Reactin Plus tablet is pain-relieving medicine used to relieve headache, body ache, backache, joint pain and toothache. It reduces swelling, pain and stiffness in arthritis and spondylitis. It reduces the formation of chemicals responsible for the sensation of pain, swelling and inflammation.

Uses

It is used in the symptomatic treatment of acute pain and inflammation in patients with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. It is used to treat muscle or joint pain.

Contraindications

  • If you are allergic to Paracetamol, Diclofenac or other ingredients of the medicine.
  • If you have severe heart problems like heart failure, high blood pressure or brain diseases.
  • If you have liver, kidney disorder or dysfunction.
  • If you experience asthma, skin rashes, swelling and allergies after taking aspirin or other painkillers.
  • If you have a history of stomach ulcers and bleeding or have an active ulcer.
  • If you are pregnant, in the third trimester of pregnancy.

Directions for Use

Reactin Plus tablet is to be consumed as a whole with water. Take before or after food.

Overdose

Taking Reactin plus tablet more than the prescribed quantity causes an overdose and individual may experience symptoms like headache, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhoea, dizziness, low blood pressure, difficulty in breathing and other serious effects. If you experience such symptoms or suspect the person taking the medicine is experiencing such symptoms contact the doctor or visit the nearest hospital. Carry the tablet package along with you as it may assist the doctor to identify the possible cause.

Missed a Dose

If you have missed taking a dose of medicine, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular dose schedule. Avoid taking a double dose to compensate for the missed dose.

  • Medicines affect the way Reactin plus tablet works or Reactin plus tablet itself affects the action of other medicines taken at the same time.
  • If you are taking NSAIDs to treat the pain or taking medicines to treat high blood pressure, heart conditions, mental illnesses.
  • Medicines like cyclosporine and tacrolimus used to modify immune response cause kidney damage if taken with Reactin Plus tablet.
  • Reactin Plus tablet increases the risk of stomach ulcers or bleeding if taken along with steroidal medicines.
  • Reactin Plus tablet increases the risk of bleeding if taken with blood thinners like Warfarin and Coumarin.
  • Increases the risk of fits if you are taking the medicine with antibiotics like Levofloxacin and Ciprofloxacin.
  • If you are taking medicines to treat diabetes, be cautious about symptoms of low glucose levels like sweating, anxiety, fast heartbeat and hunger pangs.
  • Reactin Plus tablet must be taken one hour before, or 4-6 hours after consumption of Colestipol and Cholestyramine (medicines used to lower cholesterol levels).
  • Reactin Plus tablet must not be consumed at least for 8-10 days after taking a medicine containing Mifepristone.
  • Be cautious if you are taking medicines like Phenobarbital, Carbamazepine and Phenytoin (medicines to treat brain-related disorders).
  • Probenecid (used to treat gout), Rifampicin (used to treat tuberculosis), Zidovudine ( used for HIV infections), herbal preparations like St. John's Wort and Methotrexate must be used cautiously.
  • Inform the physician about the medicines, supplements or herbals you are taking or might take to avoid possible interaction.
