Pentasa Rectal Suppository contains mesalazine (also called mesalamine or 5-Aminosalicylic Acid) as its active ingredient. It is used to treat ulcerative colitis (a condition that causes inflammation

How Does It Work?

Mesalazine in this medicine works by preventing or blocking the body from producing certain substances that may cause inflammation.

Directions for Use

For rectal use only. Use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.
Wash and dry your hands after emptying your bowel.
Insert the suppository in your rectum region through the anal opening after peeling off any wrapping over it.
Do not move or walk for 15 minutes so that the medicine starts dissolving due to the body's temperature.
Rewash your hands.
Avoid passing stools for at least 1 hour so that medicine stays in place.
