Can I consume alcohol with Olstan tablets?

The consumption of alcohol has to be kept to a minimum while on treatment with Olstan tablets. Please tell your doctor before starting the medication if you have a habit of drinking alcohol.

Mode of Action of Olstan 20 MG

How Does It Work?

Olmesartan medoxomil stops all actions of angiotensin II and relaxes the blood vessels, which lowers the blood pressure.

Directions for Use of Olstan 20 MG

Always take this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor. The tablets have to be swallowed whole with a glass of water.

Interactions of Olstan 20 MG

Interactions with other medicines

Concomitant use of other blood pressure-lowering medicines (angiotensin ll receptor blockers) with olmesartan medoxomil can increase the effectiveness of the medicine
Concomitant use of Potassium supplements, a salt substitute which contains potassium, water tablets or heparin. Olmesartan medoxomil may raise the levels of potassium in your blood
Concomitant use of Lithium with Olmesartan medoxomil may increase the toxicity of lithium
Concomitant use of Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory agents with olmesartan Tablets may increase the risk of kidney failure
Concomitant use of Colesevelam hydrochloride with Olmesarton decreases the effectiveness of the latter
