• If you are allergic to pantoprazole or domperidone or other ingredients of the Nupenta-DSR capsule.
• If you using medicine containing Rilpivirine.
• If you have stomach or intestinal bleeding or obstruction.
• If you suffer from liver or kidney disorder.
• If you have a tumour of the pituitary gland (prolactin pituitary tumours).
• If you have heart problems like congestive heart failure, heart rhythm problems or electrolyte imbalance.

• Diarrhoea
• Dry mouth
• Headache
• Weakness
• Rash
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Stomach pain
• Bloating

Other General Warnings

• You develop watery diarrhoea or fever after taking the medicine.
• You develop black tarry stools and abdominal pain after taking the medicine.
• You have a stomach tumour or cancer.
• You have kidney, liver-related disorders, heart disease.
• You have or had a fracture or have brittle or weak bones (Osteoporosis).
• You are using steroids or HIV medicines or anti-infective medicine.
• You develop a skin reaction.
• You are using the medicine for a long time. The blood magnesium levels may drop.
• You are using other medications.
• Long term use of the medicine for more than 3 years results in vitamin B12 deficiency.
• Taking the medicine for more than one year may increase the chances of developing bone fractures.

How Does It Work?

• A pump called the proton pump in the stomach is responsible for the secretion of stomach acids.
• Pantoprazole binds to the proton pump in stomach cells and blocks acid secretion.
• Domperidone increases the motility of the stomach, intestines so that acid does not reflux back into the food pipe.

Interactions with other medicines

• Some medicine alters the way the Nupenta-DSR capsule works or the medicine itself reduces the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
• Inform the physician regarding the medicines, supplements or herbals you take or might take to avoid possible interaction.
• Medicines whose activity is dependent on the pH of stomach acid may not work when taken along with Nupenta-DSR capsule (some antifungals like ketoconazole, itraconazole, posaconazole, ampicillin, iron salts and other medicines like erlotinib).
• Blood thinners like warfarin, when taken concomitantly with Nupenta-DSR capsule increases the risk of bleeding.
• Other medicines like medicines used for heart conditions, anti-HIV medicines, certain antibiotics, antimalarials, medicines acting on the brain or used for brain-related disorders must be used cautiously.
