Mode of Action

How Does It Work?

The mechanism of Clonazepam is to increase the activity of Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid (GABA). It is a chemical that inhibits neurotransmission and, in turn, reduces neuronal excitability. If a person does not have enough Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid (GABA), their body may get excited and overworked. This can lead to panic attacks or seizures. Clonazepam thus helps in having more Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid (GABA) in the body. This will help in reducing seizures and panic attacks.
