Contraindications
- If you have a hypersensitivity to any of the components of the Klonaz Es Tab.
- If you have a history of alcohol or medicine addiction.
- If you are already using other anti-anxiety or sedatives. They can interfere and cause adverse reactions.
- If you have acute angle glaucoma, it increases the fluid pressure in the eyes.
- If you have liver disease.
- If you have kidney disease.
- If you are a patient with breathing difficulty.
- If you have a heart condition.
- If you are pregnant and a lactating mother.
Side effects
- Insomnia
- Increased sweating
- Fatigue
- Sexual dysfunction (primarily decreased libido, male ejaculatory delay and anorgasmia)
- Nausea
- Drowsiness
- Confusion

- You have any allergic reactions.

- You have any previous mild liver or kidney condition, this medicine may need a dose adjustment.
- You are using any herbal medicines or supplements, they can interfere with this medicine.
Directions for Use
- Take a Klonaz Es tab exactly as prescribed by the doctor.
- You can take it with or without food.
- Do not exceed the dosage even if you cannot feel the effect of this medicine.
- Take the capsule as a whole with a glass of water. Do not break or chew this medicine.
- Do not stop taking this medicine abruptly, as it can lead to withdrawal effects.
- Do not take this medication with other medications without informing your doctor.

How Does It Work?
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Tell your doctor what prescription and non-prescription medications, herbal products, vitamins and nutritional supplements you are taking or plan to take as there is a chance of drug interaction. Different medicines can interact with Klonaz Es Tab, making it less effective or increasing side effects.
- This includes -
- MAOI (monoamine oxidase inhibitors) like Selegiline, rasagiline, isocarboxazid, etc., which are strictly contraindicated as they may cause serotonin syndrome. Serotonin syndrome can also be induced by tryptophan, buspirone, triptans, antidepressants, amphetamines, fentanyl, lithium, tramadol. These are also contraindicated.
- The interaction with azole antifungals, clarithromycin, or CYP2C19 inhibitors (e.g. fluconazole, fluvoxamine, omeprazole) may cause increased serum levels.
- Antidepressants like Imipramine and desipramine may interact with escitalopram and lead to very high blood pressure.
- Aspirin, NSAIDs, and other medicines that affect coagulation may interact and can increase the risk of bleeding.

- You can continue with the usual diet as food doesn’t influence the effect of Klonaz Es Tab. Talk to your doctor about any supplements or herbal drinks you may be currently taking before using this medicine.
