Medical Description
Hifenac-MR Tablet is a prescription medicine used to treat painful muscle spasms and reduce swelling, stiffness, and inflammation in conditions affecting joints and bones. It is often prescribed for musculoskeletal pain, sports injuries, and pain after operations or surgeries.
This medicine is a combination of aceclofenac, paracetamol, and chlorzoxazone. Aceclofenac and paracetamol work together to relieve pain and lower fever, while chlorzoxazone acts as a muscle relaxant, easing spasms and improving mobility. They provide faster, longer-lasting relief.
Hifenac-MR works by blocking the release of prostaglandins, substances responsible for pain, swelling, and inflammation. Chlorzoxazone helps relax tense muscles and reduces pain signals reaching the brain, leading to overall relief.
You should take Hifenac-MR only as your doctor directs, in the correct dose and for the recommended duration. It is best to take it after meals to minimise stomach upset or irritation. Do not self-medicate or take more than advised, as this can increase side effects like liver problems, dizziness, or stomach irritation.
Before starting this medication, always inform your doctor about your medical history, current medications, and supplements. Patients with liver disease, kidney problems, stomach ulcers, or alcohol dependence should use Hifenac-MR cautiously. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should seek medical advice before use.
