Description
tablet is a medication used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). It contains a combination of perindopril and amlodipine as active substances and is used for the management of high blood pressure. It is important to take tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop taking this medication on your own. Uses of GATOSYL AM TABLETS
tablet is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure).
Contraindications of GATOSYL AM TABLETS
- If you are allergic to perindopril, amlodipine, other ACE inhibitors, or any other ingredient of tablet.
- If you have a history of swelling under the skin (angioedema) with or without the use of medicines called ACE inhibitors.
- If you have diabetes and are taking a medicine that contains Aliskiren.

Pregnancy

Can I take tablet during pregnancy?

Breast Feeding

Can I take tablet during breastfeeding?

tablet is not advised for breastfeeding mothers. This medication passes into breastmilk in trace levels, which may harm your baby, particularly if he or she is a newborn or was born prematurely. Please contact your doctor about a safer alternative.
Driving

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with tablet?

Avoid drinking alcohol while taking tablet as it could lower your blood pressure and cause dizziness or fainting.
Other General Warnings
Talk to your doctor if
- You are pregnant or plan on becoming pregnant.
- You are taking medicines called ACE inhibitors like captopril, and enalapril and develop symptoms like swelling of the face, legs, hands, lips, tongue, glottis, and larynx.
- You have narrowing or blockage of the blood vessels that supply blood to the heart (coronary artery disease).
- You develop heart-related chest pain after taking this medicine.
- You have low fluid or salt due to severe diarrhoea/vomiting, low dietary salt intake, dialysis, or prolonged use of diuretics.
- You have a narrowing of the aortic valve of the heart (aortic stenosis).
- You are scheduled for surgery with anaesthesia.
- You have kidney disorders.
- You have diabetes.
- You are taking medicines called potassium-sparing diuretics, potassium supplements, and/or potassium-containing salt substitutes.
Directions for Use of GATOSYL AM TABLETS
Take tablet at the same time each day, even if you feel well. Do not stop taking it without consulting your doctor.

- Store at 25°C in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Quick Tips of GATOSYL AM TABLETS
- Lowering blood pressure decreases the risk of a future heart attack or stroke. However, it may also result in dizziness. When rising from a seated or sleeping posture, do so slowly. Do not use if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant....
- Patients with kidney and liver diseases should use tablet with caution. A dose adjustment may be necessary. Please contact your doctor.
Dosage of GATOSYL AM TABLETS
Overdose
An overdose of tablet can lead to low blood pressure (hypotension). The most common side effect of an overdose is low blood pressure, which can result in dizziness or fainting. If this happens, lying down with your legs elevated can help. If you have taken too much of this medicine and are experiencing any of these side effects, seek emergency medical assistance....
Missed a Dose
If you miss a dose of tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Interactions of GATOSYL AM TABLETS
Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way tablet works, or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Inform your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- Particular care should be taken if you are taking medicines for treating fluid accumulation (diuretics), mental disorders (lithium), abnormal/high cholesterol (simvastatin), preventing organ rejection after a transplant (cyclosporine), abnormal/irregular heartbeat (diltiazem), fungal infections (itraconazole)....
- There is a risk of increased blood potassium levels when Coversyl AM 8/5 ta tabletblet is used along with potassium-sparing diuretics (spironolactone, amiloride), potassium supplements, or other medicines that can increase serum potassium (indomethacin, heparin, cyclosporine)....
- Nitritoid reactions (redness of the face, nausea, vomiting, low blood pressure) may occur when this medicine is used with injectable gold (used to treat arthritis symptoms).
- When tablet is used together with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines (used for treating pain, redness, and swelling), there is a risk of kidney damage, especially in the elderly who have low fluid volume or in individuals with kidney disorders....
