Molecule Description
Amlodipine+Perindopril is a medicine used to treat high blood pressure. It contains two active medicines, perindopril and amlodipine, which work together to relax and widen the blood vessels. This helps blood flow more easily and lowers blood pressure, reducing strain on the heart and blood vessels.
This medicine is usually prescribed when blood pressure is not adequately controlled with a single medicine. Even if you feel normal, it is important to continue taking Amlodipine+Perindopril regularly, as high blood pressure often does not cause noticeable symptoms. Stopping the medicine suddenly may cause your blood pressure to rise again.
Amlodipine+Perindopril should be taken exactly as advised by your doctor, preferably at the same time every day. Some people may experience side effects such as dizziness, headache, cough, or swelling of the feet or ankles, especially at the beginning of treatment. Getting up slowly from sitting or lying positions can help reduce dizziness.
This medicine should not be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, diabetes, heart problems, or are taking other medicines, especially diuretics or potassium supplements. Regular follow-up and blood pressure monitoring are important to ensure safe and effective treatment.

Amlodipine+Perindopril relaxes blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more freely throughout the body. This decreases your blood pressure and lowers your chances of suffering a stroke, heart attack, or kidney issues in the future.
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Amlodipine+Perindopril works, or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Inform your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- Particular care should be taken if you are taking medicines for treating fluid accumulation (diuretics), mental disorders (lithium), abnormal/high cholesterol (simvastatin), preventing organ rejection after a transplant (cyclosporine), abnormal/irregular heartbeat (diltiazem), fungal infections (itraconazole).
- There is a risk of increased blood potassium levels when Amlodipine+Perindopril is used along with potassium-sparing diuretics (spironolactone, amiloride), potassium supplements, or other medicines that can increase serum potassium (indomethacin, heparin, cyclosporine).
- Nitritoid reactions (redness of the face, nausea, vomiting, low blood pressure) may occur when this medicine is used with injectable gold (used to treat arthritis symptoms).
- When Amlodipine+Perindopril is used together with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines (used for treating pain, redness, and swelling), there is a risk of kidney damage, especially in the elderly who have low fluid volume or in individuals with kidney disorders.
Interactions with food items
- Amlodipine+Perindopril can be taken with or without food.
- Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice, as they may increase the effect of amlodipine and cause excessive lowering of blood pressure.
- Limit high-salt foods, as excess salt can reduce the blood-pressure-lowering effect.
- Be cautious with potassium-rich foods or salt substitutes containing potassium, especially if advised by your doctor.
- Maintain a balanced, heart-healthy diet while taking this medicine.
Dosage
Overdose
An overdose of Amlodipine+Perindopril can lead to low blood pressure (hypotension). The most common side effect of an overdose is low blood pressure, which can result in dizziness or fainting. If this happens, lying down with your legs elevated can help. If you have taken too much of this medicine and are experiencing any of these side effects, seek emergency medical assistance.
Missed a Dose
If you miss a dose of Amlodipine+Perindopril, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
