Gastractiv 10 MG Description
Gastractiv tablet is an anti-emetic medicine. It contains domperidone as its active ingredient. This tablet is used to treat the symptoms of nausea and vomiting in adults and adolescents above 12 years of age. Take this medicine in the exact dose and duration as directed by the doctor. Preferably take this medicine before meals. Before using Gastractiv tablet, inform the doctor if you are pregnant/breastfeeding and about your complete medical history.

Uses of Gastractiv 10 MG
Gastractiv tablet is used for the treatment of nausea and vomiting in adults and adolescents above 12 years of age.
Contraindications of Gastractiv 10 MG
- If you are allergic to domperidone or any of the other ingredients of Gastractiv tablet.
- If you are taking medicines that may affect the working of your heart. If you are not sure what these medicines are, please confirm with your doctor.
- If you have liver disorders.
- If your heart is unable to pump blood efficiently or you have any other heart disorders.
- If your ECG (electrocardiogram) shows a heart problem called prolonged QT corrected interval.
- If you have a tumour of the pituitary gland (prolactinoma).
- If you have a blockage or tear in your stomach or intestines.
- If you have bleeding in your stomach/intestines or develop black, tarry stools or notice blood in your bowels.

Pregnancy

Storage and disposal of Gastractiv 10 MG
- Store Gastractiv tablet in a cool and dry place below 25°C protected from direct sunlight and moisture.
- Keep away from children and pets.
Dosage of Gastractiv 10 MG
Overdose
- Symptoms of overdose of Gastractiv tablet include sleepiness, disorientation, agitation, and movement disorders (muscle contractions, cramps, restlessness, irregular, jerky movements).
- If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
Missed a Dose
- If you have missed taking any dose of Gastractiv tablet, take it as soon as you remember.
- However, if it's time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule.
- Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.

- Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- Gastractiv tablet should not be used together with medicines used for treating abnormal/irregular heartbeat (disopyramide, amiodarone), mental disorders (haloperidol), depression (citalopram), bacterial infections (erythromycin), fungal infections (pentamidine, ketoconazole), malaria (halofantrine), cancer (toremifene), allergies (mequitazine), heartburn is gastroesophageal reflux disease (cisapride), nausea and vomiting due to cancer chemotherapy (dolasetron), constipation (prucalopride), pain (methadone), excessive sweating (diphemanil), heart-related chest pain/high blood pressure (bepridil), and HIV (ritonavir)....
- Particular care should be taken if you are taking medicines that can slow down the heart rate or decrease the level of potassium in the blood.
