  • Keep a separate quick-relief inhaler available if your doctor has prescribed one.
  • Seek urgent help if breathing suddenly worsens or the medicine causes severe palpitations.

Dosage

Overdose

Using too much may cause tremor, fast heartbeat, palpitations or worsening unwanted effects. If you think you have used too much, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.

Missed a Dose

If you miss any dose, take it when you remember. If it is time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine.

How does this medicine work?

Budesonide is an inhaled corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and swelling in the airway lining. Formoterol is a long-acting bronchodilator that relaxes airway muscle and improves airflow. Together they help prevent recurring symptoms, but this inhaler is not automatically a rescue treatment for a sudden severe attack.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can increase heart, steroid or low-potassium effects, or reduce the bronchodilator response. Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines, supplements and herbal products you use. In particular, mention beta-blockers, water tablets, heart-rhythm medicines, other steroids, strong antifungal medicines and medicines for HIV infection.

Interactions with food items

Follow your doctor or pharmacist advice about food and drink. Ask whether alcohol is suitable with your treatment and health condition.
