Eritel 20mg Tab is an antihypertensive medicine. It is classified as an angiotensin receptor inhibitor, also known as angiotensin receptor antagonist (ARA). The medicine inhibits narrowing of the blood vessels, thus reducing blood pressure and improving blood flow.

This medicine should not be taken during pregnancy as it can harm the unborn baby. Do not take it if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy.
Can I take Eritel 20mg Tab while breastfeeding?
Since there is no sufficient data on whether Telmisartan passes into the breast milk or not, this medicine is not recommended to be used while breastfeeding. Do seek your doctor's advice for a safer alternative.
Can I drive if I have taken Eritel 20mg Tab?
While this medicine does not have any effect on your driving ability, avoid driving in case you experience symptoms like drowsiness and dizziness.
Can I consume alcohol with Eritel 20mg Tab?

Mode of Action of Eritel 20mg Tab
How Does It Work?
Our body produces a substance called angiotensin-II that helps in constriction of the vessels and results in increasing blood pressure. The active ingredient in the composition of Eritel 20mg Tab inhibits the binding of angiotensin-II to its receptors, resulting in relaxation of the blood vessels and subsequent lowering of blood pressure.
Directions for Use of Eritel 20mg Tab
Always take this medicine under your physician's guidance. Do not alter the dose by yourself or stop taking the medicine before the prescribed dosage of Eritel 20mg Tab ends. Stay hydrated and drink plenty of water.
Interactions of Eritel 20mg Tab
Interactions with other medicines
Telmisartan can interact with certain medicines like NSAIDs and aspirin as these reduce its effect. Other medicines such as diuretics, ACE inhibitors, lithium, azathioprine and aliskiren should also be avoided. Taking this medicine with any anti-diabetic drugs can result in significant changes in your blood levels.
Interactions with food items
Avoid consumption of high potassium containing foods as it can lead to irregular heartbeat, weakness, confusion, tingling in the extremities and heaviness in the legs. During the course of the medicine, low salt diet is advised.
Storage and disposal of Eritel 20mg Tab
Eritel 20mg Tab should be stored at room temperature. It should be kept at cool and dry place and should not come in direct contact with sunlight, heat and moisture. Do not keep it near the reach of children and pets. Discard the expired medicines.
Dosage of Eritel 20mg Tab
Overdose can result in dizziness, extreme low blood pressure, increased heart rate, increased levels of potassium in the blood, loss of consciousness and kidney failure. Seek medical help immediately.
