How Does It Work?
The medication enalapril acts by relaxing blood vessels and reducing high blood pressure. It also helps the heart function more efficiently and pump blood effectively. It belongs to a category of medicines called ACE inhibitors.(Angiotensin Converting Enzyme)....
Directions for Use of Envas 10 MG
- Take the tablet every day at the same time
- Take the Envas tablets exactly how prescribed by the doctor
- You can take the tablets after meals or even on empty stomach
- With the first few doses, you may feel dizzy or light-headed, in this case you should take rest
- If discomfort after taking the tablets continues, reach out to the doctor
- Take the tablets with water and swallow directly without chewing
Interactions of Envas 10 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- Medicines used as anaesthesia should not be given with enalapril due to risk of very low blood pressure
- Antidepressants or antipsychotics can also reduce blood pressure to very low levels
- NSAIDs (pain medicines) given with enalapril can reduce its effect on the body
- Coadministration of medicines like spironolactone, amiloride, potassium supplements, trimethoprim-cotrimazole, ciclosporin, heparin or others can increase potassium levels in the blood
- Giving enalapril and sodium aurothiomalate together can cause vomiting, facial flushing, etc.
- Giving medicines having aliskiren can also cause very low blood pressures
- Using with other blood pressure medications can cause very low blood pressure
- Lithium administration with enalapril can cause lithium toxicity
- Use of other medicines belonging to category of ACE inhibitors may cause fluid retention in the body
- Taking diabetes medications with enalapril increases risk of very low blood sugar levels
Storage and disposal of Envas 10 MG
Do not let children get hold of the medicine. Store it away from light in a dry place at room temperature and do not use it after the expiry date or day.
Dosage of Envas 10 MG
Overdose
If you have taken more than prescribed, ask your doctor or go to the nearest hospital immediately and carry the tablet strip with you. You might experience symptoms of overdose like light headedness, headache, etc....
Missed a Dose
If you miss a dose of Envas tablet, do not take an extra one. Take the next tablet as prescribed as per schedule.
