Uses
- Emetil 100 mg tablets are used in the treatment of:
- Anxiety
- Mania
- Schizophrenia
Contraindications
- Do not take Emetil 100 mg tablets or use caution:
- If you have an abnormal heart rhythm
- If you have anaemia
- If you have angina (a kind of chest pain)
- If you have breast cancer
- If you are in a coma
- If you have glaucoma (increased pressure in the eyes)
- If you have high blood sugar levels
- If you have tardive dyskinesia (involuntary movements of the tongue, mouth, and eyes)
Side effects
- Side effects of Emetil 100 mg tablets include:
- Dry mouth
- Increased prolactin levels in the blood
- Muscle stiffness
- Orthostatic hypotension (an abrupt decline in blood pressure on standing)
- Excessive sleepiness
- Urinary retention
- Weight gain

- You have diabetes. It is important to monitor the blood sugar levels regularly during the course of this medication.
- You have been diagnosed with liver disorders. Dose adjustments may be required.
Directions for Use
- Take Emetil 100 mg tablets exactly as advised by your doctor.
- Do not exceed the dosage, even if you cannot notice the effects of this medicine.
- Take Emetil 100 mg tablets as a whole with a glass of water.
- Do not break or chew this tablet.
- Take this medicine with or without food.

- Do not take more than the recommended dose. If you suspect an overdose, consult a physician right away. Taking more Emetil 100 mg tablets than the prescribed amount can raise the risk of adverse effects and harm. Consult your doctor for a reassessment if the intensity of your problems has worsened and is not being treated in the suggested dose. Feeling restless, having a dry mouth, stomach cramps or bloating, fever, muscle stiffness, jerky muscle movements, fainting, variations in heart rate, and seizures (convulsions) are all symptoms that could indicate an overdose.

Interactions with other medicines
- Emetil 100 mg tablets can interact with many medicines and cause adverse side effects. It is advised to inform the doctor of all medication being taken to be checked for possible interaction issues. The following medicines are known to interact with Emetil 100 mg tablets.
- Emetil 100 mg tablets should not be taken with certain atypical antipsychotics such as olanzapine. Combining these medications increases the risk of adverse effects such as increased heat tolerance, blurred vision, and dry mouth.
- Emetil 100 mg tablets should not be taken with some selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) such as sertraline. Combining these medications may cause irregular heart rhythm.
- Emetil 100 mg tablets should not be taken with anti-epileptics such as divalproex sodium. Combining these medications may abnormally increase the impact of divalproex sodium.
- Emetil 100 mg tablets should not be taken with certain antiretroviral medicines such as abacavir. Combining these medications may reduce the excretion rate of abacavir.
- Emetil 100 mg tablets should not be taken with certain alpha-glucosidase inhibitors such as acarbose. Combining these medications may reduce the therapeutic efficacy of acarbose.
- Emetil 100 mg tablets should not be taken with certain kinase inhibitors such as acalabrutinib. Combining these medications may affect the metabolism of acalabrutinib.
- Emetil 100 mg tablets should not be taken with some androgen biosynthesis inhibitors such as abiraterone. Combining these medications may increase the serum concentration of Emetil 100 mg tablets.
Interactions with food items
- Avoid having grapefruit with Emetil 100 mg tablets as this may increase the risk of side effects such as dry mouth, nausea, and blurred vision.
