Description

Duzac Capsule is used to treat depression and anxiety disorders. It can also be used to treat diabetic neuropathic pain (nerve damage due to diabetes), stress urinary incontinence, and fibromyalgia (

widespread pain in the body). Depression is a mental mood disorder characterised by a feeling of sadness, loss of interest, mood swings, hopelessness and loneliness, etc. Duzac Capsule contains Duloxetine as its main ingredient. Duloxetine works by increasing the levels of certain chemical messengers (serotonin and norepinephrine) in the brain, which regulates mood and behaviour and also lowers the pain caused by nerve damage. Duzac Capsule should be taken in dosage and duration as advised by your doctor. This medicine should not be taken without consulting a doctor. Many side effects are associated with it, including nausea, vomiting, dizziness, dry mouth, diarrhoea, sweating, difficulty sleeping, and sexual dysfunction. Complete the full course of treatment and do not stop consuming Duzac Capsule suddenly, as it can cause worsening of your condition or may lead to withdrawal-like symptoms.

Uses of Duzac 20 MG

As per CDSCO, Duzac Capsule is used for the following cases:
Treatment of depression
Treatment of generalised anxiety disorder (GAD-feeling of extreme worry and fear)
Treatment of diabetic neuropathic pain (pain due to nerve damage in diabetic patients)
Treatment of fibromyalgia (a condition with widespread muscle and joint pain)
Treatment of stress urinary incontinence (lack of control over urination)

Contraindications of Duzac 20 MG

Duzac Capsule is contraindicated in the following cases:
If you are allergic to any component of the Duzac Capsule, i.e. Duloxetine
If you are taking medications like Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI), linezolid, methylene blue, Selegiline
If you are taking anti-Parkinson’s medications
If you have a history of epilepsy (fits)
If you have severe skin conditions
If you have uncontrolled hypertension
If you have acute angle glaucoma (increases the fluid pressure in the eyes)
If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts or behaviour
If you have liver and kidney disease
If you are pregnant or a breastfeeding mother

Can I take a Duzac Capsule during pregnancy?

Duzac Capsule is unsafe during pregnancy. Pregnant women should only take Duzac Capsule if necessary or in some life-threatening condition. Pregnant women are advised to consult a doctor before taking this medicine and Inform their doctor about their pregnancy or intention to conceive at the time of prescription.

Breast Feeding

Can I take a Duzac Capsule while breastfeeding?

Duzac Capsule is not recommended during breastfeeding. Some studies suggest that the content of this medicine may get excreted into breast milk and can harm the baby. Discuss the potential risks and benefits of taking Duzac Capsule with your doctor.

Driving

Can I drive if I have taken Duzac Capsule?

Duzac Capsule may cause side effects like decreased alertness, sedation, blurring of vision, confusion, dizziness, lethargy and lightheadedness, which could hamper your ability to drive. Avoid driving if you are experiencing these side effects after taking this medicine.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with the Duzac Capsule?

Alcohol consumption with Duzac Capsule is not advised. It increases the severity of side effects like decreased vision, dizziness, drowsiness, sedation, liver injury, etc. It also worsens the condition of your disease.

Directions for Use of Duzac 20 MG

Take Duzac Capsule as prescribed by the doctor.
Take Duzac Capsule with or without food or as prescribed by the doctor.
Take Duzac Capsule on a regular schedule, preferably at the same time every day.
Swallow the whole capsule orally with a glass of water. Do not crush/break the capsule.
Do not take Duzac Capsule with other medications without consulting your doctor.
Do not stop taking Duzac Capsule abruptly, as it may lead to withdrawal symptoms.
Do not increase the recommended dose of Duzac Capsule without consulting a doctor.
