n are a few of the other uses of Dotidep Tablet. It is composed of Dosulepin or Dothiepin as its main component. It is an antidepressant medication. The mode of action of the Dotidep Tablet is by raising the levels of a specific chemical substance in the brain called serotonin. It is responsible for lowering mood swings. It is not an addictive medication and does not cause dependency. But weight gain, confusion, increased heart rate, etc., are some of the side effects of the Dotidep Tablet. It is essential to follow your doctor's direction for using the Dotidep Tablet, as it has a relatively high toxicity in overdose. Do not stop using Dotidep Tablet medicine suddenly, as it can cause withdrawal symptoms like sweating, tremors, cold, etc. Dotidep Tablets are not recommended for children and adolescents below 18. The usage should be observed as it can cause suicidal thoughts. Try to take this medicine at a fixed time every day to maintain steady levels in the body.

Uses of Dotidep 50 MG

As per CDSCO, Dotidep Tablet is used for the following conditions
Depression.
Psychotic depression (psychosis such as hallucinations, delusions, etc.)
Neurotic depression (depression in an emotionally unstable patient).
Treatment of depression unresponsive to other antidepressants.
Management of anxiety disorder.

Contraindications of Dotidep 50 MG

If you have a known allergic reaction to any of its components.
If you are already using other antidepressants or antipsychotics. It can cause hallucinations, seizures, and different life-threatening side effects.
If you have any serious heart condition, like a heart attack, irregular heart rhythm.
If you have a rare blood-related illness known as porphyria.
If you were previously diagnosed with bipolar disorder or mania.
If you have severe liver impairment.
If you have closed-angle glaucoma, a painful eye condition.
If you notice any sudden mood changes and self-harming or suicidal thoughts.
Note - Dotidep Tablets are not recommended for children and adolescents younger than 18 years.
