The mode of action of the Dotidep Tablet is by raising the levels of a specific chemical substance in the brain called serotonin. It is responsible for lowering mood swings. It is not an addictive medication and does not cause dependency. But weight gain, confusion, increased heart rate, etc., are some of the side effects of the Dotidep Tablet. It is essential to follow your doctor's direction for using the Dotidep Tablet, as it has a relatively high toxicity in overdose. Do not stop using Dotidep Tablet medicine suddenly, as it can cause withdrawal symptoms like sweating, tremors, cold, etc. Dotidep Tablets are not recommended for children and adolescents below 18. The usage should be observed as it can cause suicidal thoughts. Try to take this medicine at a fixed time every day to maintain steady levels in the body.

Uses of Dotidep 50 MG
- As per CDSCO, Dotidep Tablet is used for the following conditions
- Depression.
- Psychotic depression (psychosis such as hallucinations, delusions, etc.)
- Neurotic depression (depression in an emotionally unstable patient).
- Treatment of depression unresponsive to other antidepressants.
- Management of anxiety disorder.
Contraindications of Dotidep 50 MG
- If you have a known allergic reaction to any of its components.
- If you are already using other antidepressants or antipsychotics. It can cause hallucinations, seizures, and different life-threatening side effects.
- If you have any serious heart condition, like a heart attack, irregular heart rhythm.
- If you have a rare blood-related illness known as porphyria.
- If you were previously diagnosed with bipolar disorder or mania.
- If you have severe liver impairment.
- If you have closed-angle glaucoma, a painful eye condition.
- If you notice any sudden mood changes and self-harming or suicidal thoughts.
- Note - Dotidep Tablets are not recommended for children and adolescents younger than 18 years.

How Does It Work?
Directions for Use of Dotidep 50 MG
- Take the Dotidep Tablet exactly as prescribed by the doctor.
- Do not change the dose of Dotidep Tablet, even if you do not see its effects.
- Do not try to break this tablet or chew it and the pill as a whole with a glass of water.
- It is better to not take it with other medications without informing your doctor.
- Do not use Dotidep Tablet medicine if its packaging has been already opened.
- Do not suddenly stop taking the Dotidep Tablet, as it can cause adverse effects from withdrawal.
- You can take Dotidep Tablet medication with or without consuming food.
Interactions of Dotidep 50 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- Do not use Dotidep tablet if you are currently using other antidepressants like MAO inhibitors such as linezolid, methylene blue, phenelzine, selegiline, etc., because they can lead to severe side effects like tremors, severe seizures, etc. It can sometimes even lead to death. At least a 14-day gap should be between taking these two medications....
- Do not use other antidepressants with a similar composition like amitriptyline, imipramine, etc. They can exaggerate the side effects of Dotidep Tablet medicine.
- Do not use Dotidep Tablet with other medicines that cause sedation and drowsiness, like tranquillisers, opioid or narcotic pain relievers, muscle relaxants, etc.
- If you use antibiotics, antifungals, migraine medicines, Dotidep Tablet can decrease their effects.
- Dotidep Tablet can have interactions and side effects with stomach ulcers, antimalarial, heart, and blood thinners.
Interactions with food items
- Try to avoid drinking grapefruit juice and cranberry juice or eat those fruits while taking Dotidep Tablet; they can increase the levels of this medicine in your blood. It can lead to unwanted adverse effects....
