Uses
- As per CDSCO, Dotidep Tablet is used for the following conditions
- Depression.
- Psychotic depression (psychosis such as hallucinations, delusions, etc.)
- Neurotic depression (depression in an emotionally unstable patient).
- Treatment of depression unresponsive to other antidepressants.
- Management of anxiety disorder.
Contraindications
- If you have a known allergic reaction to any of its components.
- If you are already using other antidepressants or antipsychotics. It can cause hallucinations, seizures, and different life-threatening side effects.
- If you have any serious heart condition, like a heart attack, irregular heart rhythm.
- If you have a rare blood-related illness known as porphyria.
- If you were previously diagnosed with bipolar disorder or mania.
- If you have severe liver impairment.
- If you have closed-angle glaucoma, a painful eye condition.
- If you notice any sudden mood changes and self-harming or suicidal thoughts.
- Note - Dotidep Tablets are not recommended for children and adolescents younger than 18 years.

- You are using other herbal medicines and supplements.

Directions for Use
- Take the Dotidep Tablet exactly as prescribed by the doctor.
- Do not change the dose of Dotidep Tablet, even if you do not see its effects.
- Do not try to break this tablet or chew it and the pill as a whole with a glass of water.
- It is better to not take it with other medications without informing your doctor.
- Do not use Dotidep Tablet medicine if its packaging has been already opened.
- Do not suddenly stop taking the Dotidep Tablet, as it can cause adverse effects from withdrawal.
- You can take Dotidep Tablet medication with or without consuming food.

How Does It Work?
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Do not use Dotidep tablet if you are currently using other antidepressants like MAO inhibitors such as linezolid, methylene blue, phenelzine, selegiline, etc., because they can lead to severe side effects like tremors, severe seizures, etc. It can sometimes even lead to death. At least a 14-day gap should be between taking these two medications.
- Do not use other antidepressants with a similar composition like amitriptyline, imipramine, etc. They can exaggerate the side effects of Dotidep Tablet medicine.
- Do not use Dotidep Tablet with other medicines that cause sedation and drowsiness, like tranquillisers, opioid or narcotic pain relievers, muscle relaxants, etc.
- If you use antibiotics, antifungals, migraine medicines, Dotidep Tablet can decrease their effects.
- Dotidep Tablet can have interactions and side effects with stomach ulcers, antimalarial, heart, and blood thinners.
Interactions with food items
- Try to avoid drinking grapefruit juice and cranberry juice or eat those fruits while taking Dotidep Tablet; they can increase the levels of this medicine in your blood. It can lead to unwanted adverse effects.
