Medical Description

Ditryp H Tablet uses include treatment of depression with symptoms of anxiety. Amitriptyline and Chlordiazepoxide are the two main ingredients of Ditryp H Tab. Amitriptyline is classified under tricyclic antidepressants. Amitriptyline gives feelings of well being, relieves tension and anxiety, promotes good sleep and improves mood. Chlordiazepoxide in Ditryp H Tab reduces anxiety. It belongs to a category of medicines called benzodiazepines. Ditryp H Tablet side effects include dizziness, bloating, weight gain and blurred vision. Taking Ditryp H tablets for several days can cause physical dependence. Suddenly, discontinuing the Ditryp H tablet without medical advice can cause withdrawal symptoms like sweating, headaches, stomach pains, and tremors. The doctor will gradually reduce the Ditryp H tablet dose to avoid withdrawal symptoms before stopping it completely. Ditryp H tablet is usually used for long-term treatment. The patient should regularly do blood count and liver function tests to gauge the impact of the medicine on their health. The doctor’s appointments should not be missed while treated with Ditryp H.

  • Do not take more than the recommended dose of Ditryp H tablet.

Storage and disposal

Store Ditryp H Tab in a clean and dry place and at room temperature. Do not store it in wet places. Keep Ditryp H out of reach of children and pets. The Amitriptyline in Ditryp H Tablet impacts the balance of natural chemicals like serotonin. Serotonin is a chemical that is produced by our nerve cells. Lower serotonin levels can lead to mood disorders like depression or anxiety. Amitriptyline cures these mood disorders by restoring the levels of serotonin.

Interactions with other medicines

  • Ditryp H Tab may interact with medicines like monoamine oxidase inhibitors. Consuming Ditryp H tablets with monoamine oxidase inhibitors can cause a condition known as serotonin syndrome. The patient may suffer from symptoms like high fever, stiff muscles, confusion and fluctuations in blood pressure or heart rate.
  • Combining Ditryp H Tab with opioids like codeine, morphine, oxycodone and hydrocodone makes you vulnerable to problems like slowed breathing, coma and severe drowsiness. In rare cases, it can even cause death.
  • Taking Ditryp H Tab with antiarrhythmic drugs like Flecainide and Propafenone increases the risk of irregular heartbeats.
  • Taking antidepressants like sertraline, fluoxetine and paroxetine with Ditryp H tablet can aggravate side effects like confusion, dizziness and heart attack.
