Dermikem Oc Plus Tube Of 15gm Cream
Description
Dermikem OC Plus Cream is a topical medication used to treat inflammation, redness, and swelling caused by bacterial, fungal, or mixed skin infections. It contains three active ingredients: clobetasol, a steroid that reduces inflammation; neomycin, an antibacterial that combats harmful bacteria; and miconazole, an antifungal that treats fungal infections. Together, they offer effective relief from itching, irritation, and infection.
This cream is for external use only. Apply it exactly as prescribed by your doctor and do not use it for any other skin condition without medical advice. Do not apply it on children under two years old. For the best results, complete the full course of treatment even if symptoms improve early. If your condition does not improve, consult your doctor for further assessment.
When applying Dermikem OC Plus Cream, ensure to clean and dry the affected area beforehand. Wash your hands after applying and avoid contact with your eyes, mouth, or healthy skin to prevent spreading the infection. Keeping the area clean and practising good hygiene will promote faster healing.
As with all medicines, this cream may cause mild side effects such as skin irritation, redness, or a burning sensation at the application site. These typically resolve on their own, but if they persist or worsen, seek medical advice. Notify your doctor if you notice severe reactions or any unusual symptoms.
Other creams containing the same combination of clobetasol, neomycin, and miconazole include Lobate GM cream, Clobact GM cream, Sonaderm NM cream, Globet GM cream, and Cosvate NM cream. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, planning a pregnancy, or have any underlying health conditions, discuss with your doctor before using Dermikem OC Plus Cream to ensure it is safe for you.

How Does It Work?
- During inflammation or infection of the skin, the body releases some chemical substances which make the skin red, itchy and swollen.
- Clobetasol is a steroid which acts by blocking the synthesis of natural substances, i.e. prostaglandins, which are responsible for itching, swelling and redness.
- Miconazole works by inhibiting the formation of a fungal cell wall component, which leads to altered permeability and the growth of fungus, causing infection.
- Neomycin is an antibiotic widely used for treating various bacterial infections of the skin. It works by inhibiting the growth and multiplication of bacteria that cause infection.
- Collectively all these medicines work more effectively by reducing the infection and inflammation of the skin.
