D Venlor Tablet is a prescription medicine mainly used in the treatment of major depressive disorder. It is composed of a single active ingredient: desvenlafaxine. It is an antidepressant medicine. It increases certain chemical messengers in the brain, which helps manage the symptoms of depression and elevates mood.
Major depressive disorder is a type of mood disorder. It is also known as clinical depression. It causes intense sadness, loneliness, and loss of interest in life. D Venlor tablet helps lower these symptoms, which can improve quality of life. This medicine can have specific side effects like drowsiness, loss of appetite, sexual dysfunction, etc. Consult your doctor if you have any of them for a long duration.
Do not stop taking D Venlor Tablet without consulting your doctor, as it can cause withdrawal symptoms like sweating, tremors, dizziness, irritability, etc. The dose of this medicine should be monitored because it can cause self-harmful and suicidal thoughts when used for a long duration. You should not drink or drive after taking this. It should not be given to children without consulting a doctor due to the increased risk of suicidal behaviour.

- As per CDSCO, D Venlor Tablets are used for,
- Treatment of symptoms associated with major depressive disorder (improves mood and causes behaviour changes).
Contraindications
If you are allergic to the components of D Venlor Tablet.
If you are already using other antidepressant medications.
If you have bipolar disorder, this medicine can increase agitation and aggression.
If you have low sodium levels in the blood.
If you have a urinary tract problem, heart disease, or bleeding disorder, the dose of this medicine should be carefully monitored.
If you have been diagnosed with neuroleptic malignant syndrome (a rare reaction caused by antipsychotic meds).
Use of D Venlor tablet in children below 18 years of age is not recommended.

- You experience any changes in sexual functioning, as this medicine may lower your sexual desire and cause sexual dysfunction.

Directions for Use
- Take the D Venlor Tablet exactly as directed by the doctor.
- Do not exceed the prescribed dosage, even if you cannot feel its effects.
- You can take D Venlor Tablet with or without consuming food.
- Do not chew or break this tablet.
- Try to take the tablet as a whole with a glass of water.
- Do not take D Venlor Tablet with other medicines without informing your doctor.
- Do not discontinue D Venlor Tablet abruptly, as it can have side effects.
Storage and disposal
Store D Venlor tablet in dry conditions at room temperature, away from wet surfaces, direct sunlight, and humidity. Dispose of the packaging carefully after use. Do not use this medication if the package is already open or if it is past the expiration date. Keep D Venlor Tablet away from children and pets.

Overdose
- D Venlor Tablet overdose can cause dizziness, nausea, vomiting, anorexia, drowsiness, slight tremor, anxiety, changes in blood pressure, confusion, agitation, sleep disturbances. Large overdoses can also produce mental status changes, changes in heart rate, delirium, seizures, and coma. If you overdose on D Venlor Tablet and experience any of these symptoms, immediately seek emergency medical treatment from a nearby hospital.
Missed a Dose
If you have missed a dose of the D Venlor Tablet, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time to take the next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next one. Do not take both doses together, as it can cause an overdose. Talk to your doctor if you have any confusion about it.

D Venlor Tablet contains desvenlafaxine as its active ingredient. It is an antidepressant medicine. Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Do not take this medicine if you are using other antidepressants, like linezolid, methylene blue, etc., as it can cause severe reactions that can prove fatal.
- If you use blood thinners and antiplatelet medicines, D Venlor Tablet can increase the risk of bleeding or bruising.
- Do not take D Venlor Tablet if you are using opioid pain relievers, cough medicine, sleeping pills, muscle relaxants, or antihistamines (allergy medicine), like cetirizine, as it can cause excessive drowsiness.
- If you are taking medicines that increase serotonin-like St. John’s wort or antidepressants like fluoxetine, with D Venlor Tablet, they can cause serotonin toxicity, which results in life-threatening adverse effects.
Interactions with food items
- D Venlor Tablets do not have any known interactions with food. You can take this medicine before or after consuming food.
