Amlokind 5 Tablet

• Amlokind 5 tablet is used for the management of high blood pressure.
• It is also used to treat angina pectoris (chest pain due to reduced blood flow to the heart).

• If you are allergic to amlodipine or any other ingredient of Amlokind 5 tablet.
• If you have very low blood pressure or heart-related conditions such as stenosis, cardiogenic shock, or heart failure after a heart attack.

• Headache
• Dizziness
• Sleepiness
• Nausea
• Abdominal pain

Other General Warnings

• You have any underlying health condition related to the liver and kidneys.
• You have heart-related conditions or recently had a heart attack or heart failure.
• You are elderly.

• Amlokind 5 tablet should be taken exactly as recommended by your doctor.
• Take it as a whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush, chew, or break the medicine.
• Preferably take this medicine at a fixed time for optimal blood pressure control.
• Do not take more than the prescribed dose.

• Store Amlokind 5 tablet in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight.
• Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.

• Amlokind 5 tablet is an anti-hypertensive medication. It is prescribed to treat high blood pressure. This medication can also help reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke or death in high-risk patients.
• Take this medicine in the exact dose and duration prescribed by the doctor. Do not take more than the prescribed dose. For better blood pressure control, take it at the same time every day.
• Missing a dose of your blood pressure medication can lead to serious health problems. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember.
• Amlokind 5 tablet is not recommended if you are pregnant, planning on becoming pregnant or breastfeeding. If you become pregnant while taking this medication, stop taking it immediately and consult your doctor. Also, inform your doctor about all other medicines that you take and your complete medical history.
• It is recommended that you make certain lifestyle changes in addition to taking Amlokind 5 tablet on time. These changes include eating a low-fat, low-salt diet, maintaining a healthy weight, exercising for 30 minutes every day, avoiding smoking, and limiting alcohol consumption.
• Ankle swelling, constipation, slow heartbeats, diarrhoea and visual disturbances may occur in some individuals with the use of this medicine. Inform your doctor if these effects bother you or do not go away.
• If you experience dizziness or sleepiness after taking the Amlokind 5 tablet, avoid driving, operating heavy machinery, or performing any tasks that require mental alertness.

Overdose

Missed a Dose

• If you have missed taking any dose of Amlokind 5 tablet, take it as soon as you remember.
• If it's time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule.
• Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.

Interactions with other medicines

• Some medicines can affect the way the Amlokind 5 tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
• Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interactions.
• Especially, if you are taking medicines such as antibiotics, antifungals, other blood pressure-reducing medicines, cholesterol-lowering medicines, medicines for heart conditions, and muscle relaxants.
• Other medicines that should be used with caution are immunosuppressants, anti-HIV medicines, etc.
